Neon signs, taillights on the car ahead, maps, highway construction markers, electronic gadgetry, and remote controllers weave together with the horizon, hills, rivers, and rocks. I am interested in the contrast between mobility and an enduring, reverent self-defining relationship with a particular place or location upon the earth. This ongoing series of landscape inspired sculptures serve as visual markers of contemporary life; buoys of sorts that quietly communicate a direction.
