This series of work has been an investigation into the processes of building up layers and wearing them away. These wall-hung porcelain sheets are meant to echo the natural process of erosion. Cracks and fissures in the surface are emphasized for contrast. The older pieces are glazed with strong red hues recalling blood, energy, life, power, etc. The newer pieces employ more color, a variety of surface treatments and textures and are directly related to landscape painting.
